What is Granite House Inc?
Granite House Inc. is a psychosocial rehab Clubhouse model program that serves adults 18 and older affected by a mental illness with a possible dual diagnosis of substance abuse. We are part of
Clubhouse International. Clubhouse was founded in 1948 in New York. We follow the 37 standards of the Clubhouse model. Granite House Inc. is part of this international program that helps it’s members find social support right here in the Wausau area.
Granite House Inc. is a non-profit organization and free of any auspice agency. Granite House Inc. board of directors meets monthly and collaborates with members in making decisions so Granite House Inc. can be successful.
What do we provide our members?
Granite House Inc. provides a safe and secure environment for people living with a mental illness feel needed, wanted and not judged. We address life skills and engage side by side with our members to help build those important life skills so members can live as independent of a life as they can. Granite House Inc. helps build confidence, self-worth, and self esteem for members.
Granite House Inc. helps members work together to empower each other and find resources and basic needs.
Members and staff develop meaningful relationships,
providing a community of support to avoid isolation in a welcoming and safe place.
This proven model enables members to build a better life for themselves and to become productive citizens of the community.
